49ers Fall in 10th 21 Minutes After Start
Game Continued from April 15 in the 10th at 3-3

May 10, 2006

BOX SCORE

NORTHRIDGE, CA-- CS Northridge's (23-23, 4-8 Big West) James Scott drove in a bases loaded single up the middle, ending a suspended game in just 21 minutes, 4-3 over visting Long Beach State (26-21, 9-3 Big West).

Scott's winning hit, off of loser Andrew Liebel (2-1) was setup after a bloop triple down the rightfield line, that rightfielder Jose Hernandez fell and then chased after. LBSU then loaded the bases with two intentional walks before Scott drove the ball past a diving second baseman, Chuck Sindlinger.

In the top of the 10th, LBSU put runners on at second and third with two outs, before Hernandez struck out looking to send it to the bottom of the inning.

The game, originally played on April 15, was resumed in the top of the 10th inning with both teams tied at 3-3.

The Dirtbags continue its eight-game, 10-day streak, when they return to Blair Field for a three-game series with UC Santa Barbara starting on Friday.
