Long Beach State added six players to its MLB Draft haul on Wednesday, bringing the 2017 total up to eight players.
David Banuelos, Darren McCaughan and Dave Smith all picked up All-American recognition from Perfect Game on Wednesday.

LBSU won its opening game of the NCAA Regional, shutting out San Diego State, 6-0.

Long Beach State (2016): Appeared in 12 games, making six starts and six relief appearances … the primary midweek starter for LBSU, going 3-3 with a 6.86 ERA … picked up the win in his first start at UCLA (Feb. 23), going 5.1 innings allowing just one run with five strikeouts … struck out a season-high eight batters against Fresno State (Mar. 7), allowing three runs in six innings for his first of two straight quality starts … worked six innings, allowing three runs to LMU (Mar. 15) to pick up his second victory … came out of the bullpen for the first time at Cal State Fullerton (Mar. 25), recording a pair of outs without allowing a baserunner … worked 1.1 scoreless innings of relief at USC (Apr. 19) … came out of the bullpen to throw five innings against San Diego State (Apr. 26), allowing two runs on two hits with seven strikeouts to earn his third win … pitched three scoreless innings against Miami (FL) in the Coral Gables Regional, striking out five batters without allowing a hit.
Cosumnes River (2014-15): Helped the Hawks to two playoff trips in two seasons ... named first team All-Big 8 Conference and first team All-NorCal after his sophomore season ... posted an 8-1 record with a 1.66 ERA and an 0.93 WHIP in 2015 ... pitched 86.2 innings that season, striking out 68 batters with just 12 walks ... posted a 4-1 record as a freshman in 2014, with a 2.55 ERA across 60 innings pitched.
Elk Grove High School: Led the Thundering Herd to a CIF-Sac Joaquin Section Division I championship as a senior in 2013 ... went 11-2 with a 0.99 ERA as a senior, recording 63 strikeouts in 70.2 innings ... named first team All-League and first team All-Metro as a senior ... finished his high school career with an 18-2 record and a 1.22 ERA.
