Brad Davis joined the Long Beach State coaching staff as the undergraduate assistant coach for the 2013 season. Davis returned to the Beach after spending 10 seasons playing professional baseball.
Davis played three seasons for the Dirtbags from 2002-04. He started all three seasons behind the plate, compiling 200 hits and hitting .317 during his three years. He was a three-time All-Big West selection, making the First Team in 2003 and the Second Team in 2004. He was also to Collegiate Baseball's All-Freshman Team in 2002.
He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2004 draft by the Florida Marlins and reached the majors in 2010. He played 33 games with the 2010 Marlins, hitting .211 with three homers and 16 RBI. Of his 10 seasons in the pros, Davis played six at the Triple-A level. Davis was selected two times as an All-Star in the minor leagues - in 2006 for the High-A Florida State League and in 2009 for the Double-A Southern League.
While working with the Dirtbags on the field, Davis will pursue a degree in Communications from Long Beach State.
