A streaking Long Beach State Dirtbags team stayed hot with its second game in a row with double digit runs. On Friday, the Dirtbags (7-6) defeated visiting Utah Valley 12-0 with a season-high offensive outburst and a dominant performance from Nick Sabo.
After a four-game road trip, the Long Beach State Dirtbags are back home this weekend to host the Utah Valley Wolverines for a three-game set. The Dirtbags are riding a season best three-game winning streak while the Wolverines roll into town with a 3-9 record.
The first two batters of the game reached base and eventually scored as the Long Beach State Dirtbags took Wednesday's game 11-4 from Arizona. The Dirtbags won their third straight game to improve to 6-6 on the year while Arizona lost its fifth straight to fall to 6-7.
Senior Colby Brenner smacked a run-scoring double to start the scoring and a run-scoring triple to end it in a 3-2 win for the Long Beach State Dirtbags at Arizona on Tuesday. Brenner's first big hit came in the second and his game-winning triple came in the eighth.
