Dirtbags Close Regular Season With Black and Blue Rivalry

Long Beach State finishes off the 2013 season this weekend with the Black and Blue Rivalry, facing UC Irvine on the road at Anteater Ballpark. The series begins on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., then continues on Friday at 6:30 p.m. before concluding on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Carle Receives More Accolades as National Pitcher of the Week

Junior pitcher Shane Carle garnered another honor this week, being selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association National Co-Pitcher of the Week. The honor is the first since 2008 for any Long Beach State player.

Dirtbags Rally From Two-Run Deficit For A 5-4 Win In Extra Innings To Sweep Series

Down 4-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Dirtbags put two across to tie the game, and won it in extra innings as Juan Avila singled to start the inning, and scored on an RBI single by Zack Rivera, his third hit of the day. The walkoff hit gave Long Beach State a 5-4 win over UC Riverside.
