Long Beach, Calif. - Behind another explosive offensive performance (it was their fourth-straight game shooting over .500), the 49ers took it to UC Riverside at home in the final game of the Big West regular season, sealing the regular season conference title with a 91-75 win at the Walter Pyramid. The win closed the regular season out with the 49ers at 22-7, and 12-2 in the Big West. Long Beach held a four-point lead at halftime but exploded in the second, scoring 47 points while holding UCR to just 35.
Sterling Byrd led the team with 23 points, backed by Aaron Nixon, who scored 18, and the game capped off a year that saw the 49ers ranking as one of America's most prolific offenses.
