LBSU women's track & field team earns USTFCCCA All-Academic distinction
49ers receive honor for eighth year in a row

LONG BEACH - Long Beach State women's track & field was selected as a 2012 Division I All-Academic Team the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Thursday.
It is the eighth year in a row that the 49er women have earned the distinction.
A total of 171 institutions were honored by the USTFCCCA as a result of a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better. LBSU, which posted a 3.05 team GPA, was one of three Big West programs to be recognized.
Earlier this year, Alisia Barajas, Rebecca Hamilton, Kayla Kamaka, Kristen Kiefer, Alexandrea Kruthers and Aiyana Welsh garnered Big West All-Academic accolades. It was the third time that both Hamilton and Welsh received the honor.
