LONG BEACH, Calif. – Following the 2017 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Long Beach State had a pair of student-athletes garner All-America status for their top-notch performances at Nationals.

Senior Riley Cooks, who finished 15th in the heptathlon, took home Second Team All-American honors after finishing with a total of 5,256 points. Junior Vincent Calhoun saw action in his first-ever NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championship and came away with Honorable Mention status after placing 19th in the men’s high jump. Calhoun cleared a height of 2.08m (6’ 9.75”) as the only representative out of the Big West Conference.
