EUGENE, Ore. - Junior Kenneth Medwood (Los Angeles, Calif.) continued his run through the NCAA West Regionals Saturday afternoon at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field as he earned an automatic bid to the national championships with a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles.

Medwood improved on his preliminary run (51.29), clocking in at 50.99, just .05 seconds shy of his lifetime best.

Senior Rodney Hawkins kept his hopes alive for an at-large selection, finishing 12th overall in the triple jump with a distance of 47-02.50.

In other men's action, junior Colin Dunbar came in 18th in the hammer throw with a toss of 190-02, while senior Dylan Jaedtke completed the 3000-meter steeplechase in 9:23.83 to place 24th overall.

On the women's side, junior Tayler O'Connor cleared 5 feet, 7 inches in the high jump to finish in a tie for 10th place and senior Carly Harris took 15th in the steeplechase with a mark of 10:46.76.

The NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships are set for June 10-13, at the University of Arkansas.
