49er Track & Field Competes on Second Day of Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. - The Long Beach State track & field team wrapped up their stay at the Mt. SAC Relays Friday at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.

Chris Enriquez finished third in the 5000m "B" with a lifetime-best 14:12.89. Jake Dawson added a personal-record 14:29.18 to come in 20th.

LBSU had three men finish among the top-15 in the 110-meter hurdles. Devin Hickey (14.31) and Davon Wilson-Angel (14.34) both ran season bests to come in seventh and 11th, respectively. Koree Hines was also 13th at 14.41 seconds.

Cameron Glasgow led a trio of 49ers in the 400m as he had a top-20 finish after clocking in at 48.24 (19th). Michael Perez-Rogers also placed 28th overall (48.42), while Jahmani Lockett came in 42nd (48.92).

Gabe Hilbert was 20th overall in the 800-meter run at 1:51.45.

Dylan McCloskey was just .01 seconds of his lifetime best in the 100m, registering a mark of 10.92 to finish 40th, while Elijah Landry-Zapien was 52nd at 11.03 seconds. McCloskey was also 40th in the 200m (21.81).



Ryan Petrella competed in the 400m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 56.58 seconds.

Glasgow, Landry-Zapien, McCloskey and Perez-Rogers combined to finish second in their section and sixth overall with a time of 41.51 seconds in the 4x100m.

In the 4x400m, Lockett, McCloskey, Perez-Rogers and Glasgow ran a season-best 3:13.44 to place seventh overall.

Michael Vaughan was Long Beach State's lone entry in the field events as he had a leap of 49-05.75 to finish sixth in the triple jump.

On the women's side, Jasmine Askew clocked in with a personal-record 56.01 in the 400m. She placed fourth in her section and 31st overall.

Emily Cooper took second in her section and 30th overall in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.08 seconds. She was also 43rd in the 200m (24.67).

The 4x400 relay squad of Askew, Cooper, Saedra Wright and Nicole Poindexter also finished eighth with a season-best 3:45.32. That mark ranks fifth in school history.

Long Beach State will host the annual Beach Invitational at Cerritos College on Saturday, April 20. The track events will start at 8:30 a.m., while the field events begin shortly after at 8:45 a.m.
