LBSU track & field concludes action at rain-shortened Aztec Invitational

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Twenty-three 49ers competed on the final day of the rain-shortened Aztec Invitational Saturday at San Diego State's Sports Deck.

Koree Hines, Christopher Lawson, Elijah Landry-Zapien and Jahmani Lockett led the way as they combined to win the men's 4x100 relay in 41.74 seconds.

Lawson was also third in the 110m hurdles (14.46), while Hines finished sixth overall (14.76).

Gabriel Hilbert had a sixth-place performance in the 1500-meter run with a mark of 4:02.25.

Justin Fox took sixth in the long jump with a season-best 21-06.

On the women's side, Katrina Graves-Johnson was the top collegiate finisher and placed second overall in the high jump, clearing 5-07. Stephanie Armstrong tied for sixth at 5-03, while Janelle Coulter tied for 11th at 5-01.

Rosa Del Toro finished third overall in the 1500m, crossing the finish line in 4:29.36.

Shakina Phillips also placed third in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.04 seconds, while Aiyana Welsh added a top 10 showing as she clocked in with a season-best 14.79.

Long Beach State returns to action next weekend when it travels to the USC Trojan Invitational (hammer throw only) on Friday, March 23, and the UC Irvine Spring Break Invitational on Saturday, March 24.
