Feb. 16, 2014
SEATTLE, Wash. - The Long Beach State track & field team wrapped up its stay in Seattle with a small contingent of distance and mid-distance runners competing at the UW Open Sunday at Dempsey Indoor.
Chris Low and Climonte Blackman led the way with a pair of top-10 showings in the 800m. Low, who was competing in his first 800m race in two years after redshirting the 2013 season, came in fourth with a time of 1:52.88, while Blackman took ninth with an indoor personal-record 1:54.67. Low's mark is the seventh-fastest in indoor school history.
Alexis Trujillo placed eighth overall in the women's 800m as she finished in a lifetime-best 2:17.36, which was good enough for eighth place. Her mark also ranks eighth on the 49er indoor all-time charts.
In addition, Caitlin Turner was 20th in the mile run (5:12.37).
Long Beach State is back in action on Monday, Feb. 17, when it heads to Fresno for the Run for the Dream Indoor Invitational.
