The Beach Marathon Mile is an incremental running program that has been designed to encourage kids, adults and families to exercise together and promote a healthy lifestyle that will continue for years to come. All ages may participate (children grades K-8, teens and adults) and all participants will run a total of 26.2 miles (full marathon distance) by combining their mileage from all their runs over a 16-week period. Participants are encouraged to use this event to build endurance, increase self-confidence and learn to reach goals.
To participate in the Beach Marathon Mile, participants will log a total of 25 one-mile runs between June 1, 2010 and September 12, 2010. Families can run together, youth can run in their PE classes and all participants will keep a personal log to track his/her progress. Run your mile and log it on our exclusive website provided to our registered participants only! On this website, you will receive feedback and encouraging comments from the Long Beach State Track and Field coaching staff.
