Each year, the 49er Athletic Club Golf Classic benefits the student-athlete scholarship fund at Long Beach State and provides a memorable, first-class experience for all participating golfers, fans and community supporters. In 2012, the 49er Athletic Club Golf Classic will be held at one of the most prestigious courses in all of Southern California - Virginia Country Club in Long Beach. Opened in 1909, Virginia Country Club is one of the most sought after rounds of golf due to its privacy and prestige. Hosting just a few of public events each year, this year's Golf Classic is a perfect opportunity to play some of the most memorable environments in all of California golf. Located in the Bixby Knolls region of Long Beach, this course offers memories and an experience that only few golfers can share.
