Melissa Nicolai was hired in 2013 as the third member of the LBSU compliance department. In addition to maintaining continued NCAA Compliance within the department, Nicolai is in charge of measuring initial student-athlete eligibility, cooperation with the NCAA clearinghouse, and distributing and collection of National Letters of Intent. Nicolai worked in a similar role at Cal State Fullerton prior to accepting her current position, and also previously worked as a graduate assistant for Long Beach State marketing. A four-year letterwinner in softball at Loyola Marymount, Nicolai played professionally in the Netherlands, and is the daughter former LBSU and former NBA player Craig Dykema.

Women's Tennis | Sophomore


Sophomore Natalia Munoz won the singles championship in the top flight of the UNLV Fall Invitational. Along the way Munoz picked up her first career win over a ranked opponent, defeating No. 83 Aiwen Zhu of UNLV in the semifinals, 6-1, 5-7, 7-6.
