Long Beach State Athletics hired Ashlie Kite to serve as a Senior Associate Athletics Director and SWA beginning in August of 2016. Kite spent the previous 12 years in a similar role at CSUN.
Kite comes to the Beach from CSUN, where she started working in 2005 as the Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Operations for seven years. After spending five months as the Interim Athletics Director from November 2012 to March 2013, she was promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director and SWA, a position she has held until her move to Long Beach State.
During her time at CSUN, Kite was responsible for the supervision of Sports Medicine as well as Athletics Equipment, and served as the department's primary resource for crisis management, conflict mediation and resolution.
Kite also assisted with CSUN's strategic planning and review as well as serving as an institutional representative at the conference and NCAA-level.
Prior to her move to California, Kite worked at James Madison University in a number of roles with increasing responsibility. Working with the department while earning her Master's Degree, Kite started as an Assistant Compliance Coordinator in 1993, and eventually was promoted to Director of Compliance in 1999, where she worked for five and half years before moving to CSUN.
