LBSU Student-Athletes Engage In Thank-A-Thon
Long Beach State's student-athletes took time to thank all of the Beach community who help provide their scholarships.

Long Beach, Calif. - When a prospective student-athlete chooses to attend Long Beach State, they are choosing to join a family for the rest of their life. The Beach family, made up of alumni, donors, season ticket holders, faculty, staff, community members, and many more are there to support our 49ers every step of the way.
Recently, LBSU student-athletes were given the opportunity to express their gratitude for all of the support that these key contributors show through a new program, the Thank-A-Thon. Last Monday, a select group of 49ers chose to make phone calls to a variety of individuals who support their academic and athletic experiences at Long Beach State. This year's Thank-A-Thon was the first of its kind and allowed LBSU supporters and our student-athletes to connect directly with the express purpose of strengthening the relationship between those groups outside of a competition setting.
"I really enjoyed participating in the Thank-A-Thon and letting those who support us know how much they are appreciated," said junior women's basketball player Chantel Dooley. "These are the people who make our experience at Long Beach State such a positive one."
Long Beach State is responsible for fully funding scholarship and facility needs for over 350 student-athletes annually, an amazing accomplishment that is only made possibly through the generous support of those who donate to the 49er Athletic Club. To learn more on how you can support our Student-Athletes (and receive a call during next year's Thank-A-Thon), please contact the 49er Athletic Club at (562) 985-4550 or CLICK HERE.
