Long Beach, Calif. - Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2013 induction class of the 49er Athletic Hall of Fame. Recognizing the best of Long Beach State athletics, the 49er Athletic Hall of Fame and the Long Beach State athletic department are accepting nominations online for this prestigious honor.
In the last ceremony, Long Beach State entered nine individuals and one team into the 49er Athletic Hall of Fame back in 2011. The national champion 1989 Women's Volleyball team was the first team to be inducted, and joined Meredith Cervenka, Le'Gretta Hinds, Alan Knipe, Margaret Mohr, Doug Robinson, Peter Smith, Mark Templeton, Cheryl Weaver, and Jered Weaver as honorees.

Smith Leads Dirtbags To Big West Championship
Senior RHP Dave Smith celebrated Senior Day at Blair Field with a career-best 8.0 innings pitched, allowing just one run in LBSU's 2-1 win over Hawai'i. With the win, the Dirtbags clinched their first Big West title since 2008, winning it outright with three games remaining.
