Former 49er Quarterback Mike McCoy Named San Diego Chargers Head Coach

Former 49er quarterback Mike McCoy has been named Head Coach for the San Diego Chargers. McCoy heads to San Diego from Denver where he served as the offensive coordinator. He becomes the 15th coach in Chargers' history.
McCoy redshirted his first year at LBSU in 1990 and then saw action as a redshirt freshman during the 1991 season. He played in eight games for the 49ers, starting five of them, completing 87 of 165 passes for 938 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. After Long Beach disbanded the football program, he transferred to Utah to finish out his career.
