The Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) is a two-story, 126,500 square-foot recreation facility located next to the Rhodes Tennis Center on the east side of the Long Beach State campus.
The $56 million state of the art facility opened its doors in September 2010 after a year and a half of construction. A hub for recreational activities, programs and opportunities for intramural sports, fitness and wellness services, the SRWC is open to all Long Beach State staff and faculty and is included for all students as part of registration at Long Beach State.
The premier recreation center in the 23-school California State University system, the facility contains a three-court gym, a multi-activity court gym, a dine-in Robeks, an indoor jogging track, 20,000 square feet of weight lifting and cardio equipment, racquetball courts, activity rooms, a custom-made rock climbing wall, and an outdoor pool and spa to take advantage of the year-round sunshine in Long Beach.
The SRWC also offers many technological advances such as biometric hand scanners for entry, filtered water fountains, keypad lockers, and flat screens with touch technology to schedule activity classes, check intramural standings and other interactive options.
