Long Beach State Athletics has officially launched its 2011-12 marketing/promotional campaign: Your 49ers. The purpose of the Your 49ers campaign will be to further enhance and strengthen the relationships and affinity between the athletic program, University and Long Beach area community.

Senior Shawn Stuart threw seven shutout innings, striking out seven as Long Beach State took an early lead and was never threatened in a 5-1 victory against Pacific, winning the series against the Tigers. The victory sets up a showdown for the Big West crown next weekend at Blair Field against Cal State Fullerton.

Sophomore Ryan Strufing struck out a career-high tying seven Tigers on Saturday, but left after seven innings and Pacific scored three in the ninth inning to steal a 5-3 victory over Long Beach State.

Long Beach State junior Philip Chian shot an even-par 71 in Saturday's final round of the NCAA Athens Regional to tie for fourth place at the University of Georgia Golf Course to advance to the NCAA Championship at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades.
