After a long delay due to inclement weather, the Long Beach State track & field team finally started the second day of the NCAA West Preliminaries three hours behind schedule Friday evening at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Zack Rivera hit a towering, three-run home run in the seventh inning for the Dirtbags, but Long Beach State was already in too big of a hole, and ended up falling Saturday at UC Irvine by a final score of 8-4.
